Berrow 0 Dundry 4

'AN afternoon to forget' was how Dave Keirle described Berrow's 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Dundry on Saturday.

This was a hugely important game for Berrow in their bid to avoid the drop - but a disastrous second half, in which they conceded four times, now sees them hovering just three points above the drop zone in Somerset Premier.

Berrow manager, Dave Keirle said: "We played well for five minutes, went in 0-0 at half-time and believed if we played with patience we could break them down, but it wasn't to be.

"We need to get this game out of our heads quickly, it was a bad day at the office and we know we are capable of playing a lot better than this."

The game's turning point came within a minute of the start of the second half, when a ball across the goal was diverted into the net by Jack Shepherd for an own goal.

The next goal, Berrow could do nothing about - strike from 35 yards flew into the top corner past the goalkeeper.

The third was a strike from 18 yards, that crept past Barratt, killing off any hope that Berrow had of thinking they could possibly get back into the game.

Goal number four was from a short corner, with Berrow not reacting and still setting up to defend, a shot fired into the roof of the net to end a terrible afternoon at Red Road.

Next up for Berrow is a trip to Odd Down on Tuesday, February 23, With Keirle and Osgood looking for a big reaction from their players.
