Western Counties North

Burnham 58 Gordano 0

BURNHAM put Gordano to the sword in an emphatic fashion, running in nine tries and displaying the type of rugby that coach Richard Muskett has been working so hard to achieve in training.

One of the highlights was Brandon Pettitt marking his debut with a try, showing that he is more than capable of playing senior rugby.

Burnham's pack of Ed Lewis, Adam Peters, Jamie Dutton, Ross Mckechan, Tom Stevens, Danny Spellman, Henry Bigwood and Jordyn Wikitera pulled up there socks and did the hard work, which often goes unnoticed, to enable Burnham to release their backs and notch up the nine tries.

Try scorers were Beau Dickins (2), Jordan Paul (2), Brandon Pettitt, Josh Holder, Russell Pike, Richard Muskett and Tim Piper - who also kicked five conversions and a penalty.

Every player, including Matt Fear who came off the bench, had a big influence in the game and as a team, Burnham really did prove they can play the style of rugby to challenge any team.

Man of the match went to Henry Bigwood.

Burnham travel to Wellington on Saturday, coach leaving at 12 midday.
