Old Bristolians 29 Burnham 17

BURNHAM slumped to a 29-17 defeat at the hands of Old Bristolians on Saturday afternoon.

OBs opened the scoring on 19 minutes with a try in the corner, before Danny Spelman hit back just three minutes later, with Beau Dickens converting.

But the lead was short lived as in the 25th minute Burnham lost possession and quick ball by OBs saw them score their second try.

Bristolians were a well drilled and organised team and after 33 mins a kick by their fly half was gathered by their winger who cut inside and raced through to score under the posts.

With two minutes to go in the first half, a mistake in the dead ball area gave OBs a penalty, which was taken quickly and the hosts forced their way over for their fourth try.

Burnham had the last say of the half when Beau Dickens landed a penalty for a 24-10 half-time scoreline.

On 60 minutes, Henry Bigwood won a lineout and fed Jordan Witikiria who broke away from the defence, passed out to Mason Shaw, who in turn fed Spelman who went over for his second try.

3 mins later young Chris Marsh replaced Ashley Tucker and at this point Burnham were in control. Wikiteria was finding much more space and continued to break the Bristolians defensive line.

With five minutes remaining, OBs crossed for their fifth try.
