Somerset County Premier
Berrow 0, Middlezoy Rovers 1

BERROW’s fine recent form was brought to an end as they suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Middlezoy Rovers in the Somerset County Premier.

Middlezoy substitute Jamie Temlett scored the only goal of the game in the second half.

Berrow had previously gone three games unbeaten, having drawn 1-1 at home against Clevedon United, won 4-3 away to Wells City Reserves in the Premier/Division 1 Cup, and claimed a 1-0 victory at Odd Down (Bath) Reserves in their last outing.

But Ryan Stiles, who had scored three in two games going into the Middlezoy match, and his team-mates were unable to breach the visitors’ defences, Temlett’s goal and the clean sheet giving them the three points to keep up with the league’s top sides.

The result sees Middlezoy sit fourth in the division standings, while Berrow are currently 13th on 19 points, having won five and lost eight of their 17 league fixtures this season.
