BURNHAM-ON-SEA Cricket Club begin life in the Shrubbery Hotel Somerset Cricket League Premier Division with a trip to Ashbrittle tomorrow.

Burnham, who were promoted last season, lost their final warm-up match by nine wickets against Frome 2nds at the weekend.

They line up in the top tier alongside Street, Winscombe, Temple Cloud, Taunton Deane 2nds, Taunton St Andrews 2nds, Wellington, Shapwick & Polden 2nds, Middlezoy and Saturday’s opponents Ashbrittle.

Lympsham & Belvedere are also playing a division higher in 2018 after a superb season last time out.

They get their Division 3 campaign underway at Wembdon 2nds tomorrow.

Huntspill & District open their season at home to Wellington 2nds in Division 4, while in Division 6N Wedmore host Shapwick & Polden 3rds, East Huntspill travel to Glastonbury and Burnham 2nds welcome Horrington.

Division 7N contains two sides from this area, with Mark having already played their first game - a 39-run defeat at Harptree Villages last Saturday.

They are looking to bounce back at Winscombe 2nds this weekend, while Huntspill & District 2nds make the short trip to Uphill Castle Cavaliers.

In Division 8N, Wedmore 2nds begin their season with a trip to Bridgwater Sports.
