AFTER a number of cancellations, Burnham 2nds breathed a sigh of relief as they were safe from relegation.
Petherton batted first and made slow progress as Jim Birkett restricted well but it was Brian Brogden who struck first bowling Adrian Jones for five.
Andy Birkett caught a blinder in the gully one handed after 17 overs to remove Sponger for seven with score only on 21.
R Williams joined B Williams and both increased the scoring rate with some powerful shots but with score at 49, smart work by Adam Martin at mid off ran B Williams out for 26.
J Jervis at no5 maintained the improved scoring rate as Andy Birkett struggled with his line and length.
Harding from the pavilion end, assisted by the breeze bowled an economical spell of 11 overs for only 19.
Jim Birkett returned to bowl Jervis and Brogden replacing Andy Birkett had R Williams for 26 and Derbridge both stumped by Clifton.
Thurston had contributed quickly but was bowled by J Birkett and Birkett snr bowling at the death wrapped up the tail swiftly to leave Pethy on 152 at tea.
In reply, Pete Gaylard and Adam Martin opened the Burnham innings. Martin soon departed bowled by Briffett for 2, Gaylard moved speedily to 11 but was caught at mid on and Harvey pushed the ball in the gaps and got to 11 but was bowled round his legs.
Clifton went quickly after and the middle and lower order collapsed as the team were all out for 68.
