A FORMER Premier League referee was the official at Berrow’s match against Bridgwater Town Reserves on Saturday.
Mike Cairns was working in the top flight of English football two seasons ago but was dropped following a wrong decision in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Tottenham.
He was the linesman who wrongly awarded a goal that Frank Lampard scored with replays showing that the England midfielder's shot, fumbled by Heurelho Gomes, had not crossed the line.
The match finished 2-0 to Berrow.
