Somerset Senior Cup Round 2
Nailsea United 1, Berrow 0
BERROW were knocked out of the Somerset Senior Cup at the second round stage on Saturday with a 1-0 loss at Nailsea United.
Without top scorer Connor Watts and Harry Penfold with phil Hartnup on bench, Dax Vincent, Ash Catlow and debutant Josh White came in.
It was an even start until Berrow failed to deal with a corner and the home side's striker scored from six yards.
It was a disappointing first half with blocks from Marshfield and Gass and wayward finishing meaning that Berrow trailed 1-0 at the break.
Changes at the start of second half saw Hartnup and Ellis Harper replacing Vincent and Luke Morgan.
They started to dominate midfield with plenty of possession but not many chances although Bellinger was putting in some great crosses.
Harper nearly levelled it in the closing minutes with a left foot volley that went just wide but the result saw Nailsea into the hat for the next round.
Man of the match: Marshfield Harrison, John, White ,Marshfield, Gass, Catlow, L.McErlain, Read, Vincent(Harper), Morgan(Hartnup), Bellinger.
