Robert Pattinson has confessed that his sex scene with Kristen Stewart in the new Twilight movie is "pretty ridiculous".

The British actor, who is gearing up to promote the final film in the vampire saga alongside co-star Kristen, said it was tough to shoot steamy scenes and keep them appropriate for younger viewers, reported Us Weekly.

He said on Aussie talk show Kyle And Jackie O: "The sex scene in this one is pretty ridiculous.

"It's just because you're kind of shooting stuff to be PG-13... It's just trying to think of inventive ways to make something sexy. It can't just be a normal sex scene. It's supposed to be about, like, the greatest vampire sex you've ever had."

R-Patz - who is thought to have rekindled his real-life romance with Kristen after she admitted cheating on him with her married Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders - also revealed the intimate scenes from Breaking Dawn - Part 2 were tough to film because the pair were instructed to appear as if they were in "ecstasy".

The 26-year-old said: "We're doing it just to the camera, and the camera man is laughing as well.

"Guys' faces I don't think are really designed to do [that]."

Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is due to arrive in cinemas in November.
