Jamie Bell reckons he's "a lucky man" after tying the knot with actress Evan Rachel Wood.

The Tintin star married the American actress on Tuesday in a small secret ceremony in California.

"Thank you for all the congratulations. I'm a very lucky man," he tweeted.

Evan added: "Words cannot describe the happiness i am feeling. Overwhelming. Song of the day "(today i met) the boy i'm gonna marry" #darlenelove"

Max Minghella, one of the guests, wrote: "Yesterday I got to see my best friend exchange vows with the love of his life. Still coming down from high... #TrueRomance."

A spokeswoman for Evan said in a statement to People.com: "The bride wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera. It was a small ceremony with close family and friends."

Jamie - who rose to fame after starring in Billy Elliot - and Evan first dated in 2005, after they met when they co-starred in Green Day's music video for Wake Me Up When September Ends.

They split up after initially getting together, but it is thought that they've been engaged since January after getting back together last year.

Evan was previously engaged to shock rocker Marilyn Manson.
