David Oyelowo is reportedly in talks to lend his voice to a new animated Star Wars series.
The Spooks star is said to be "in negotiations" to play one of the lead voices in Star Wars: Rebels, said The Hollywood Reporter.
It would mark the voice-over debut for the 37-year-old.
Freddie Prinze Jr, Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Gray and Steven Jay Blum could also be joining the cast.
The new show, which would air on screens from autumn 2014, is expected to take place during the 20 years between Star Wars: Episode III and Episode IV, and would show "a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape."
David, best known for playing MI5 officer Danny Hunter in Spooks, has starred in Hollywood movies such as Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, The Help, Jack Reacher and Lincoln.
The Oxford-born actor, who now lives in Los Angeles with his wife Jessica and their four children, will next be seen in Lee Daniels' The Butler. He is also in talks to star in the the fourth Jurassic Park film.
