Neeson surprised by action roles
Liam Neeson has admitted he is surprised to have found so much success as an action star.
The Taken leading man plays an air marshal on a flight under threat in new thriller Non-Stop and the Northern Irish actor said he doesn't know how he maintains his full-throttle image.
Speaking on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, he said: "I keep myself in reasonably good shape but I have been really, really lucky. I am totally surprised. I have done 65 movies and five of them were action films, that has been it."
Liam trained with real air marshals for the role, but he isn't convinced he could lend a hand if there was ever a crisis on a plane.
"I sort of fantasised about that but I think I would just leave it to the experts, who are usually the flight attendants," he admitted.
The movie also stars Julianne Moore, Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery and Oscar nominee Lupita Nyong'o and Liam said audiences could expect some twists and turns from his co-stars.
"There are a few thrills and spills and it keeps you guessing about who the culprit might be and there is a nice homage to Alfred Hitchcock," he revealed.
Liam will next be seen in Seth MacFarlane's new movie A Million Ways To Die In The West, which will also star Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried.
Non-Stop will be in cinemas on Friday February 28.
