Angelina Jolie has vowed that she and Brad Pitt will not be upping their red carpet security after Brad was accosted at a premiere.
Last week Vitalii Sediuk, a Ukrainian former journalist with a reputation as a red carpet prankster, stormed the Maleficent premiere in Los Angeles where he says he tried to hug Brad, but was accused of trying to grab the star's crotch.
But Angelina explained: "People like that are an exception to the rule. Most fans are just wonderful.
"We've had a wonderful experience over the years, and we're very grateful for their support, and it will not change the way we behave."
She added that her partner Brad had handled the situation "perfectly" with Vitalii, who was also caught crawling underneath America Ferrera's dress at the Cannes Film Festival and since the Maleficent incident has been sentenced to three years' probation, a year of psychiatric counselling and ordered to stay away from Brad.
Angelina made the comments while in China with Brad and three of their six children to promote her latest Disney film Maleficent, a retelling of the Sleeping Beauty story.
Vitalii had said he was merely trying to give Brad a hug, but in a statement to People magazine Brad accused the former Ukrainian TV reporter of attempting to grab his crotch.
"I don't mind an exhibitionist, but if this guy keeps it up he's going to spoil it for the fans who have waited up all night for an autograph or a selfie, because it will make people more wary to approach a crowd," Brad said.
"And he should know, if he tries to look up a woman's dress again, he's going to get stomped," he added.
