A homeless man has been ordered to undergo psychological treatment for stalking Selena Gomez .

Los Angeles County prosecutors said Che Cruz was told to spend six months in a residential centre, followed by a year of psychological treatment.

He will also have to stay 200 yards away from the 21-year-old singer-actress and on-off girlfriend of Justin Bieber and her home for 10 years.

Authorities say Cruz went to Selena's home twice and was arrested in March for breaking into her guest house in suburban Calabasas. He pleaded no contest in April to a misdemeanour trespassing charge.

Cruz spent two days in jail and hours after his release he jumped a fence at the Selena's home and was re-arrested.
