Chevy Chase has cast in stitches

Chevy Chase was so funny that his Hot Tub Time Machine castmates struggled to keep straight faces when shooting scenes with him.

The former National Lampoons star shares the screen with John Cusack, Rob Corddry and Clark Duke in the comedy.

Speaking at a party in Hollywood to promote the movie, John admitted it was hard not to laugh when he was filming with Chevy.

"It was very difficult for all of us when he was around, [it] was pretty tough!" he said.

The comedy centres on a group of men who, after a crazy night of drinking in a ski resort hot tub, wake up in the year 1986.

Speaking on the red carpet, Chevy, who was at the height of his fame in the 80s, quipped: "The worst thing about the 80s was the 90s!"
