Zoe's nerves for dad on Strictly

Zoe Ball has confessed she was "terrified" ahead of her dad Johnny's first appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.

Zoe, who presents Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, was in the BBC One studio as her father took to the dancefloor.

She told The Sun: "I was terrified. When I saw him on the balcony on Saturday's show, I needed to pace up and down! I had clammy hands.

"He did really well. He has so much energy."

The mum-of-two, who previously competed on the show, added: "I feel very proud of dad. Anything he does out there will be amazing and I am certainly not worrying about the fact he is the oldest contestant."

Zoe insisted he won't be giving Johnny an easy ride when he appears on her BBC Two show.

"It's going to be funny asking dad how his dance went, but I will be impartial. I definitely won't go easy on him. If anything, I'll be tougher on him."
