Neck bring their brand of Psycho-Ceilidh Rock to the Railway in April

LONDON-IRISH rockers Neck bring their unique brand of Psycho-Ceilidh Rock to the Railway in Burnham on Saturday, April 12.

Since forming six years ago, Neck have been described as a mix of The Pogues, The Clash and The Levellers. Their rip-roaring live shows have earned them rave reviews across the circuit and has firmly established them as international festival favourites from Moscow to Texas.

Energetic singer Leeson O'Keefe, formerly of The Popes, combines his raucous, passionate vocals with the electric intensity of a full on punk band resulting in a plethora of in your face, rowdy Irish rock.

Everyday Is St Patrick's Day is a firm, empowering anthem that would be the perfect soundtrack if everyday was indeed Ireland's favourite day of the year and is definitely one to look out for at their upcoming Railway gig.

They also boast an impressive tour pedigree, having opened for the likes of The Undertones, Shane MacGowan, Misfits, The Levellers and US Irish Punk contemporaries The Dropkick Murphys.

Publications in the past have described them as "a riot from start to finish" and went on to say that "they're loud, brash and love a drink" so if you are a fan of Irish folk-fuelled punk, you will be in for a huge treat at the Railway in April.

This Saturday (March 15), the sister-act of AC/DC tribute act HellsBells will be performing at the Railway. HellRazor are a high-energy throw-off act from the famous tribute group and expertly perform hits from Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen and a whole range of heavy rock classics. They are an act not to be missed. Doors open at 7.30pm The Weekly News has a pair of tickets to give away. To be in with a chance, just answer this question: Which of these bands have Neck supported live?

A) The Undertones B) McFly C) Oasis Send answers with your contact details to: Neck Railway Competition, Bridgwater Mercury, Royal Clarence House, York Buildings, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AT. The closing date for entries will be Friday, April 8.

Tickets for Neck are priced at £5 and are available from The Railway Hotel on 01278-784828. For more information, visit www.therailwaybos.co.uk or www.neck.ie for more information on Neck.
