SIT back, relax, put on the kettle, and close your mind to all the modern day stresses and strains and visit Highbridge's glorious past.

The Weekly News takes you on another journey through time this week with our look at some of the town's distant memories.

Our quartet of fine photos, courtesy of the Highbridge History Project, may arouse some reminiscences in you, the Weekly News readers.

Take a look at this first snap which shows a peak inside a marquee at the Highbridge Flower Show in what appears to be the early part of the last century.

The event was held at the Recreation Ground, according to the history project, and we want you to get in touch if you can pinpoint the year of the picture.

Now enjoy this quirky comedy card depicting people walking through the town in 1909 - maybe it was created by someone moving away!

Have you ever seen this card before? Do you know the story behind its origins? Get in touch and tell us all about it if you do.

Our next two snaps show the oldest property in the Burnham and Highbridge area, Huish House, with a look at the frontage and another retro photo with two young men whizzing past on their bikes.

Maybe you recognise the two youngsters in the picture? Or better still perhaps you are one of the boys here?

We love to hear your reminiscences of Burnham and Highbridge over the years.
