Sea Cadets say big thanks

I WRITE on behalf of the Unit Management Committee, CO staff and cadets to say thank you to all those residents who gave generously during our door-to-door collection flag week (June 30 to July 3).

The total amount collected by the cadets was £1,417.35p. This money will go towards the running costs and expenditure of the unit, which now costs £13,000 per annum.

I would also like to publicly thank the cadets for all their help, also the parents and guardians who acted as chaperons.

This unit is only one of over 400 units throughout the country, offering many opportunities to young people (boys and girls) from 10 years onwards, to participate in loads of fun and many activities.

These activities include swimming, sailing, canoeing, boating IT computer, unit band and acquiring many other skills for trained officers.

We have vacancies for membership with parade evenings on Mondays and Thursdays from 7-9pm at Cassis Close.

Further information and any details please phone either Monday and Thursday evenings on 781028 or in the daytime on 784198. We await your call.
