Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and after giving notice to the Chief Officer of Police, hereby makes the following Order: -
This Order will come into operation on the 17th day of December 2019 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary 40mph Speed Limit on the road specified in the Schedule to this Order. The works are expected to start on the 30* day of January 2020 and end on the 10th day of February 2020. The restriction will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.
No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the length of road specified in the Schedule to this Order.

Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
