ENVIRONMENT AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT (Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 as amended by SI 2005/1399 and SI 2006/618 Black Ditch Bridge Improvements

The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to Black Ditch Bridge on the River Cary near to Shapwick (ST4118041862). The proposed improvement works will involve the following: replacing the current failed retaining wall, providing erosion protection to the river bank and replacing the existing fencing. The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. Designs and specifications of the improvement works are available, and can be viewed during normal office hours at the local Environment Agency Office (Rivers House, East Quay, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 4YS). Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
