A theatre group is set to bring an interactive production of The Sword in the Stone to a location near Bridgwater.

Cambridge Touring Theatre, known for its energetic and engaging family performances, will put on the show at The Walled Gardens of Cannington.

The performance, which has been praised by critics, will take place on Wednesday, August 19, at 4pm.

Based on the tales of King Arthur and his teacher Merlin, the family-friendly adaptation includes songs, dances, and interactive activities.

The story follows Merlin as he seeks a new pupil, eventually choosing a local boy named Wart.

The duo sets off for a tournament in London, where Wart learns valuable lessons about justice and wisdom.

Following the government's decision to reduce VAT on all children's theatre, all children and family tickets for the production have been reduced by 15 per cent.

This means more families can enjoy the spectacle for less.

Children attending the show have the chance to participate in a 45-minute drama workshop before most performances.

The workshops offer children aged five to 10 the opportunity to delve deeper into the story of The Sword in the Stone, embark on their own knightly adventures, and meet some of the play's characters.

Cambridge Touring Productions has been performing across Britain since 2000, with every show featuring six actors, a musician, and a colourful stage that transforms into various medieval scenes.

The actors, all professionals with experience in family events, bring the original story to life for today's children.

The performers are known for their lively antics, including singing, dancing, and even spraying the audience with water, ensuring a fun-filled experience for all ages.
