A variety of events are set to take place across the Burnham-on-Sea and Bridgwater areas.

Sedgemoor Rail 2026

A model railway club is set to host a two-day exhibition in Highbridge.

The Sedgemoor Rail 2026 event is planned for Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, at King Alfred School.

The exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm both days.

Entry costs £8 for adults, while children can enter for free if accompanied by an adult.

With free parking, the event boasts 10 traders, 20 layouts, and 50 prizes up for grabs.

Exhibitor highlights include models from Aberware TT120, Chard Junction O, and New Mexico HO, with catering available.

Charity Cake Sale

A charity cake sale is being held in Burnham-on-Sea.

The event takes place at 3a Sunny Lawns on Saturday, August 29, behind the Card Factory.

It will start at 11am and will run until products are sold out.

According to organisers, sponges, fruit cakes, crumbles, quiches, jams, and more will be on sale.

This cash-only sale is in aid of Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nurse charity.

Bridgwater Flower & Craft Show

The Bridgwater Flower and Craft Show will return on Saturday, August 29.

Taking place at Westfield Church Hall from 12pm to 4.30pm, the event will be free to attend.

Last year, the show displayed more than 500 adult entries and over 100 children's entries.

Annual trophy presentations include a variety of prizes, with some trophies dating back to the 1950s.

The full schedule for the event is available online and can be viewed at bfcshow.org.uk/2026-show.

Taylor More Swiftly

A Taylor Swift ska-punk tribute is set for Bridgwater.

Taylor More Swiftly will perform at The Cobblestones on Saturday, August 29.

The event runs from 7pm to 11pm and tickets, which cost £13, can be purchased at ticket247.co.uk/Event/taylor-more-swiftly-at-the-cobblestones-bridgwater-486672.

The show will see tracks like Shake It Off and Bad Blood feature the band's horn-driven style and upbeat arrangements.

All ages are welcome; however, under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.

The gig promises an unconventional approach to Swift's hits, appealing to both fans of the singer and ska-punk enthusiasts.
