STARLINGS across the West Country will be out in force next weekend and the RSPB want people to count them.
As part of the Big Garden Birdwatch, backyard Burnham birdwatchers, both experienced and amateur, are asked to count what birds they see in their garden.
Last year's bird-watch showed Somerset had the second highest percentage of starlings in people's yards, with 46% reporting starlings, only to be beaten by Cornwall's 54%.
Participants this year are also asked to report any wildlife they see, such as hedgehogs, rabbits, frogs or badgers.
To take part, count the amount of birds you see in your garden this weekend, January 25 and 26 and report your findings at rspb.org.uk/birdwatch.
