DRIVERS are losing thousands of pounds on the re-sale value of their cars by skipping on basic maintenance.
Care care firm Autoglym says its study found motorists are losing as much as £2,000 when re-selling their cars, and that a third (32%) of drivers in Somerset admit they don’t take pride in their motor.
Its chief executive Paul Caller said: “It’s surprising to see that the majority of car owners depreciate their own vehicles by not looking after them.
“Simple things like sealing and protecting your paintwork from environmental contaminants such as damaging UV rays will extend the life of your car bodywork and help keep the vehicles value.”
