MORE than half of people in the South-West are ignorant about a type of cancer which is killing 1,000 women a month, according to a survey.
Charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer found only 43% of people knew that secondary breast cancer, also known as metastatic breast cancer, is when breast cancer has spread to another part of the body and cannot yet be cured.
The survey, carried out by YouGov, coincides with the launch of Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s fight to Stop Breast Cancer For Good.
