A BURNHAM hotel has invested more than £1,200 in a defibrillator which could make the difference between life and death in an emergency.
The Royal Clarence Hotel, on the Esplanade, purchased the life-saving machine for use of hotel guests, bar customers and also members of the public.
SouthWest NHS will be adding details of the hotel to its database of machines in the area and will direct people to the hotel if warranted.
The first three minutes following a Sudden Cardiac Arrest are crucial for the patient and defibrillators can save lives whilst ambulance staff are awaited.
The defibrillator will be available from 9am to 10.30pm seven days a week, from staff in the reception or bar.
