ON MARCH 14 members celebrated the group's 70th birthday, quite a milestone for what now is a small membership. They were joined by representatives from other WI's in the area and the Somerset Federation vice-chairman.
An excellent meal was provided by the All Saints Church Hall Catering Committee and enjoyed by all in attendance. This was followed by a series of monologues by Mrs Christine Winters and a fancy dress competition, which proved to be hilarious.
One member, Mrs Ruth Woolley, was not able to be in attendance due to unforeseen circumstances, but a piece of birthday cake was saved for her.
A special prize in the raffle was a meal for two, kindly donated by Mr David Cox of Laburnum House Hotel.
