A Highbridge shop has reopened after being closed under emergency powers due to an infestation of mice and rats.
Officers from Sedgemoor District Council’s (SDC) Food Protection team used the powers to temporarily close Bargain Brand Food Outlet on Commerce Way in Highbridge.
Prohibition notices were displayed at the entrances to the shop and warehouse and Environmental Health Officers (EHO) ensured that any contaminated food products were disposed of properly.
The council now reports that Bargain Brand Food Outlet has been re-opened following a satisfactory re-inspection by Sedgemoor District Council last Friday.
A spokesman said: "Environmental Health Officers have reported substantial improvements at the premises."
