BURNHAM-on-Sea Town Council are getting into the festive spirit early by offering residents and businesses free LED lanterns.
The town council are offering a lantern to every business and household in the town centre to be placed in their window as part of their planned Frostival celebrations starting this November .
The festive celebrations start with a lights switch on November 19 along with street entertainment planned for every weekend in the run up to Christmas .
Acts will include magicians, brass bands, lost elves, carollers, stilt walkers as well as a few surprise performances.
Beverley Milner Simonds, town centre manager, said: "This is a simple plan to bring all the town centre together over the festive period by lighting up the hundreds of windows on the main streets but also on the side streets too.
"I hope that everyone will say yes to being a part of lighting up the town every evening.
"We had a great response to the lanterns last year and we have a further batch to offer to new residents and businesses in the town centre.
"People need to get in touch if they would like one with their name and address.
"We have decided to continue with the Frostival brand because the events start a long time before Advent and the traditional Christmas season.
"So, Frostival isn't some anti-Christian idea - its about been inclusive to all the various events from late November right up to the midnight mass services, without dropping the Christmas word too early!"
