Beverley Milner Simmonds said: "I am over the moon to have made it the final three.

"I saw the coverage of how many entrants there were and so to have been picked as finalist is very humbling.

“With Sarah, I work hard to put on the twice a year food and drink festivals here in our hometown and I am motivated by making Burnham-on-Sea a better place to live, work and visit.

"Having a thriving High Street is the heartbeat for a town and experience led days out that have an economic impact locally throughout the year is a vital sign of a healthy town.”

Wanting local people to be able to buy local produce, Beverley started a Food Festival which is not for profit with a group of local volunteers. This twice yearly market festival is now one of the highlights of the town, they now attract over 25,000 people to the festivals, which has put Burnham on the map.

High Streets Minister Andrew Percy said:“The buzz generated by this year’s competition has seen a record breaking 300,000 votes cast already.

“Beverley has worked hard but this is the last push and there’s still everything to play for, so get online and vote now.”
