SNOW COULD be heading for Somerset this week as a two-day warning has been put in place.
The Met Office said earlier this week that it was likely that the South West would be hit with snow due to an Arctic blast passing through this way.
It added that temperatures will drop towards the end of this week, and has issued a yellow warning for snow.
Cold rain will move eastwards across the south of the UK on Thursday and Friday, which may turn to snow in places.
There's also a chance of associated heavy rain and strong winds and the Met Office is warning people to be prepared for potential disruption on the roads, trains, air travel and to power.
The chief forecaster said: "Further showers of snow, sleet and hail will continue across parts of the UK.
"Two to four cm of snow may affect some lowland areas, while high ground may see locally five to ten cm.
"Disruption to transport networks seems likely either due to snow or ice.
"Additionally, strong winds and large waves will affect some eastern coastal areas."
