SOMERSET is a top-spot for romantic getaway destinations, according to new figures.
Last-minute cottage provider Snaptrip surveyed 1,040 adults to find out the places they'd most like to go for a loved-up break, and Somerset ranked in at number nine.
The Lake District took the top spot, followed by Cornwall and the Cotswolds.
Matt Fox, CEO at Snaptrip said: “Getting away from it all and spending quality time with your partner is really important.
"Going away on a romantic break can help create lifelong memories which add to the foundation of any relationship.”
“It’s lovely to see British couples embracing the romantic destinations we have here on home soil, as we really are spoilt for choice when it comes to picturesque getaways.”
The company also surveyed what inspire the most romance while on holiday. 53 per cent of men said a lake view was most likely to get those butterflies fluttering, whereas 48 per cent of women said a sunset was the way to their hearts.
