BURNHAM Area Rescue Boat (BARB) were called on Saturday evening after a man was reported to be in difficulty in the mud on Weston beach.
The team were called at 9.06pm to assist Weston Coastguard in helping the man to safety.
A spokesman for BARB said: "Just after we had left Burnham we heard that the man had fortunately been helped out of the mud by police on the scene and we were stood down en route.
"BARB's volunteers are always on call 24 hours a day to assist with incidents like this."
