THE Friends of Burnham-on-Sea Hospital were thrilled after they received a cheque for £3,200.
The money was raised by Burnham Rotary Club after they put on a wassailing evening and put on two competitions at the South West Winter Fair.
A cheque for £500 was also donated to the RNLI from the funds raised at the
Mark Newbery, president of Burnham Rotary Club, said: “This is a great example of Rotary working in partnership with local companies to raise funds for locally based charitable organisations.
“The Rotary Club is grateful to Richs Cider Farm for their help during the wassailing evening and to Greenslade Taylor Hunt for their help with the rotary competitions at the South West Winter Fair.
"Turkeys donated by Colin Reasons, and cash prizes donated by Burnham Funeral Services, and Ashley Edwards Funeral Directors, for their co-operation and use of their facilities, and to everyone else who worked hard to make the two events successful.”
The presentations took place at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club on Thursday March 30 2017.
