A GROUP of volunteers from East Huntspill pulled together to give a school’s garden a facelift.
Parents joined members of the East Huntspill School PTA gave up their time to repaint and tidy up the school’s quiet garden to make it an enjoyable space for children in the summer.
Carolyn Higgs, one of the volunteers on the project, said: “The regeneration of this dilapidated area began with an idea to repaint the furniture, however with further design we have managed to replant, trim and tidy this area along with other planted areas of the playground.
“The fences have been given a splash of colour as well as all the picnic benches and seating areas in the playground.
“A frog and ladybird have been made from recycled tyres and bits and bobs and we repainted the old bus to turn it into an ambulance.
“It’s very nearly finished now, we just have a small area of fence to complete.
“We’re hoping to give the garden a tidy up every year and also add a caterpillar when we raise more funds.”
