A NIGHT of promises at Burnham’s Royal Clarence Hotel raised more than £1,700 in aid of Somerset Court.
The grand charity auction’s administration was carried out by local auctioneer Jeremy Bell.
Items which came under the hammer in- cluded a champagne balloon flight for two people, theatre tickets and pottery lessons.
Somerset Court at Brent Knoll is part of the National Autistic Society and at the time of writing, cared for 43 people.
A spokesman for the event, said he was delighted with the amount raised.
He added that the money would go towards making the life a little bit easier for the residents at Somerset Court, because it would be used to improve the day care facilities.
