A COLLECTION of electric guitars signed by a famous musician are going under the hammer to raise money for charity.

Ten guitars signed by Brian May from Queen will be sold in aid of ten different charities including Secret World Wildlife Rescue in East Huntspill and Wildlife and Badger Care, which is based in East Huntspill.

Philip White, owner of Red Badger Records, commissioned the unique, candy apple red instruments from Badger Guitars.

Philip has always had a love of wildlife and has a particular soft spot for badgers and so decided to raise money for ten wildlife charities that look after them.

“I have always wanted to take my charity work to the next level.

"This will hopefully be the first of many projects, and hopefully more, that are badger oriented” Philip said.

Pauline Kidner from Wildlife and Badger Care said she is hopeful the guitars will go for a high price.

”We hope that anyone who is a Queen fan will bid for these beautiful guitars but if you play a guitar, then one of these will be a fantastic and treasured instrument to actually own" she said.

"Philip has worked hard to find a way to help charities close to his heart and I hope that the auction will be a great success for him as well as all the nominated charities.”

One guitar is being sold each day on Ebay starting on August 26.
