IT’S official – the fast improving The King Alfred School has joined The Priory Learning Trust.
Trustees at the school on Burnham Road unanimously voted for it to become part of the multi academy trust on October 1.
The news comes after the school appointed Nathan Jenkins as their principal last month and secured £1.2million of funding to repair their school roofs.
The school, which is now an academy, has been working with the trust since being placed into special measures after being judged ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted.
Neville Coles, executive principal of The Priory Learning Trust, said: “Our team has enjoyed assisting the school and we have seen significant progress. There is much more to be done but we are confident we can see this school become one of the best in the region.”
