THERE'S plenty of family fun at the Somerset Show, which is underway.

The free County Gazette event runs at Taunton Racecourse between 10am and 4pm and features a raft of activities for all.

Among attractions on the menu are face painting, fairground rides, live music, food and drink and much, much more.

County Gazette editor Paul Jones said: “The Somerset Show has become a staple of the summer calender here in Taunton, bringing thousands of people to the racecourse for a family day out.

“And this year, the show promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a range of stalls, displays, attractions and activities sure to offer something for everyone.

“So make sure you bring the whole family along to enjoy the day - entry is completely free.”

To help make people’s journey a bit easier, Berrys Coaches are running a free shuttle bus to and from the site, with buses leaving Mecca Bingo, in Corporation Street, at 10am, 11am and noon and returning at 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm.

Entertainment on offer at the show will include live music from Wrecking Ball, as well as food and drink from the likes of Sheppy’s Cider, the Cider Shack, Tracey’s Snacks and more, alongside kickboxing and falconry displays, as well as the chance to meet some exotic animals.

You can also check out a range of motorbikes and motorhomes, so there is no shortage of activities to keep you occupied throughout the day.
