A FLY-TIPPER nearly caused a severe fire after setting their waste on fire.
Firefighters from Burnham-On-Sea were called out to to land off the A38 in East Brent at around 5pm on Monday, July 9.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: “Once in attendance we found that someone had been fly tipping in the field and then set fire to it.
“As it has been so dry recently, combined with a strong wind, it didn’t take long to ignite the grass and hedges.”
Crews managed to put out the blaze using a hose reel jet and beaters.
