MORE than 500 people filled the Balliol Hall field in West Huntspill for the 12th annual West Huntspill Classic and Vintage Car Show.

On Saturday (September 15) 130 classic cars and 27 motorcycles parked up on the field near St Peter and All Hallows Church to the delight of visitors.

There were military vehicles, tractors and fire engines as well as a number of classic vehicles from throughout the decades.

Jill Wooley, organiser of the event, said: "We had a great day, the treasurer has done some counting and we have raised nearly £3,000 which I am thrilled about.

"A third of the money will go to the Balliol Hall and the rest will go to St Peter and All Hallows Church to help make it into a community hub.

"We need to repair the roof, install new toilets and completely re-do the toilets so this building can be used by the whole community.

"We had car owners from across the UK come and show off their cars on the day and we got a lot of positive feedback from visitors.

"We are really pleased with how the event went and we are looking forward to putting another one on next year."
