A GEOGRAPHY teacher at a Highbridge school is celebrating after having her latest book published.

Catherine Owen, head of geography at the King Alfred School, worked with a team of five authors to write the book, 'Progress in Geography' for Hodder Education which will be used in Key Stage three geography lessons.

Mrs Owen is an experienced writer who has previously written books for the Geographical Association (GA) and OUP and also helps deliver training across the country.

She said: "I am proud to have been able to work on such a prestigious project and appreciate the encouragement The King Alfred School has given me.

“The school's geography department is a GA Centre of Excellence with a desire to be the best of the best.

" These are very exciting days at The King Alfred School for the whole community.”
