HUNDREDS of visitors piled on to Burnham-on-Sea Esplanade to see the town's skies illuminated by a colourful firework display.

On Sunday (November 4) residents wrapped up warm and watched as dozens of fireworks were launched into the sky.

Phil New, chairman of Burnham-on-Sea Carnival and co-organiser of the event, said: "This year's fireworks display was a big success.

"Everyone seemed to love this year's display and it was a great way to kick off the carnival.

"This year's display was only possible thanks to the joint efforts of Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, Burnham Chamber of Trade, local Sponsors and the carnival Committee and the Rotary.

"I would like to say a big thank you to the Chamber of Trade, sponsors , the Rotary Club for doing the collection, Hillview JCC and Burnham Lions Club for helping the carnival committee to marshal the event."
