A BERROW dog lover said she is ‘beyond proud’ after her loyal pup won a photo competition.

Vanessa Holbrow’s four year old border terrier Sir Jack Spratticus won the The Little Dog Laughed Company’s 20th anniversary photo competition.

The 47-year-old’s talented pooch was also ‘highly commended’ in the Rescue Animal Of The Year category at The Animal Star Awards.

Vanessa said: “I am honestly so proud of Sir Jack Spratticus for his achievements over the last year.

“This remarkable boy, who was supposedly aggressive and would need muzzling all the time when out and about, is so kind and just gives so much to my life but also the lives of others.”

Vanessa, who suffers from anorexia, has been training Jack to be a support dog over the last year and said she hopes to enter him into more competitions next year.

“This year has been a great year for Jack, he has achieved so much,” Vanessa said.

“He brings joy and comfort to so many people, whether they are shop keepers, people we meet at the hospital, the disabled, young children or the elderly.

“My astonishment to this rescued Border Terrier’s resume of achievements never ceases to shock me, he is truly remarkable.

“I have looked at some competitions that I would like to enter Jack into next year and we will be continuing with his support dog training so he can continue to support me.

“We are looking forward to the future.”

As a result of winning The Little Dog Laughed Company’s competition, Jack’s portrait will feature on the front of products from the company’s 20th anniversary collection.
