HUNDREDS of residents gathered at Burnham-on-Sea war memorial to honour those who died in conflict.
A parade took place through the town before the wreaths were laid on Sunday (November 13) which was led by Burnham’s Mayor, Councillor Bill Hancock.
The Mayor was accompanied by representatives from local groups as he marched from Burnham’s Pier Street car park along the High Street to the war memorial in Love Lane.
The remembrance ceremony was conducted by Reverend Ken Brown and saw dignitaries from local groups lay wreaths to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers of the First World War.
This year’s service was especially poignant as it was the 100th anniversary since the armistice of the First World War.
Councillor Bill Hancock, mayor of Burnham-on-Sea, said: “The town has done itself proud. It was such a wonderful turnout and it was a lovely service.”
