MEMBERS of the public have the opportunity to question plans for 250 homes in Highbridge at a consultation event.

Bickenhall Consulting, which is acting on behalf of the developer, has written to local residents, inviting them to attend an open meeting to discuss the plans for a mixed size development of 250 homes.

The site, which is based on land adjacent to Isleport Lane, is allocated for housing in the draft Sedgemoor Local Plan, which is due to be adopted in the New Year.

Sedgemoor District Council has identified the need to build 13,530 homes in the area between 2011 and 2032 and, if approved, this development will contribute to that target.

A spokesman for Bickenhall Consulting, the company bringing forward the proposals, said they are excited to show the plans to the residents.

“We’re pleased to be able to share these exciting proposals for much-needed housing with the local community,” the spokesman said.

“This development, adjacent to Isleport Lane, is significant to the surrounding area and will make a valuable contribution to the housing stock, the need for which has been identified in the local plan.”

A public exhibition will be held at Highbridge Community Hall in Market Street from 3pm to 7pm on Thursday, November 29.

Information boards and members of the project team will be available at the exhibition to help answer any questions about the plans.

Residents will also be able to view the information from the consultation at isleportlanedevelopment.co.uk from November 29.
