STAFF and customers at a Burnham-on-Sea barber shop raised more than £700 for charity by taking part in this year's Movember.

A seven man steam of moustache growers from Lowe's Barber Shop on High Street, named, 'Lowe’s Bro’s' made up of Paul Aston, Michael Lowe, Colin Rodd, Ed Welstead, Rich Gardiner-White, Wayne Barrett, Liam Michael grew their moustaches and and collected donations to raise money for charity.

Running into it's eleventh year Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide.

The Lowe's Bro's celebrated finishing the challenge with a charity evening and shave off at the barber shop on the Friday, November 30.

Michael Lowe, owner of Lowe's Barber Shop, said:"We are extremely grateful for all the donations received, together we’ve raised over £700.

“We wanted to help change the face of men’s health by raising awareness of men’s health issues with something that is related to our industry of Barbering, Movember was the obvious choice”

“We want people to know 'it’s okay to not be okay' and reach out.”
