CHURCHES in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge are coming together in a bid to raise awareness of the work they are doing.
Reverend’s and church volunteers from the two towns met last month at the first Churches Together meeting and discussed strategies for improving communication as well as future events.
The group has set up a Facebook page and will be launching a website next year.
Pat Nicholls from Churches Together, said: “It was realised that many people are not aware of the amazing amount work being carried out by churches in the area. "By sharing information about social events, services and support groups it’s hoped more people can feel welcome.”
The 20 churches which are part of the group will be distributing a Christmas leaflet later this month which will gives details of carol services, concerts, fairs, parties and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Services.
After Christmas the next group will meet for a united service during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, on Sunday, January 20.
