IT'S crunch time for Taunton Titans tomorrow, as they head to promotion rivals Canterbury.

Taunton recorded their sixth straight win last weekend and climbed to second as a result, leapfrogging the Kent outfit – who lost 23-20 at Dings Crusaders – in the process.

The Titans won 23-22 in September’s reverse fixture and head coach Tony Yapp is expecting another close encounter.

“They are a good, well drilled side,” Yapp said.

“They don’t have any star players as such, but they are very solid throughout their line-up and do everything well.

“We will not get as many opportunities to score as we did last Saturday, so we will have to make sure we are more ruthless and potent in attack.

“The fact we are now above them takes the pressure off us a little bit as it means they cannot pull too far away from us whatever the result.

“If we win, it will open up some daylight between us and them.

“It will be a long day – we are leaving Taunton at 7.30am – but if it all goes to plan it could be a great day out.”

Flanker Jarrard Hayler is doubtful, but Yapp otherwise has a strong squad to pick from.
